Older readers (sorry Naomi, your secret's out) may find it difficult to read simply because the muscles and other mechanisms of their eyes aren't as responsive to changes in brightness as ours. Also the cells of the retina which pick up contrast aren't as numerous which makes small black things easier to pick out when seen against a light background. Ah but we’re both young Grant.
