As of 12:45 EVE time CVA is back on the maps, with Sov back in Providence. All Sov was restored after downtime, but servers were NOT rolled back.
Looks like the stories of the alleged hacks are true after all, even though there is no concrete information as of now.
Congratulations CVA, looks like i can put that stealth bomber away for now.
If CCP have done this then it is probably pretty conclusive that a hack was involved. No word as yet from any official sources though (CVA or CCP). I’ll keep my eyes peeled.
What I found really gratifying though was the upwelling of support and offers of assistance that CVA recieved from both friends and enemies over the course of these events. There were the odd few “Meh, don’t care, good that they’re gone” forum trolls but overall the response was a positive one. One enemy alliance (Atlas Alliance so I’m told) even offered to watch over CVA space until they got things sorted out. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy that, and that doesn’t happen often me being a hard-nosed pirate and all.
So all in all: Yay for EVE, its players and CCP. The loss of CVA would have meant that New Eden was a less fun place to live.
