An unknown hacker, calling himself VAD3R, has attacked GameScribe, the hosted blogging service for gamers.
The GameScribe homepage now displays the simple text message “GameScribe Sucks …. Podlogs rocks! – Love VAD3R”
In a statement on PodLogs, Eddie Gordo said the following:
A rival blogging site called myscribe[sic] has been hacked, which you might think I would enjoy. But let me tell you that I don’t find it funny in the slightest. Especially when my site is used by name!
Whoever did this has tarnished my reputation with the eve community, probably forever. I have been playing eve for six years now and I like to think I have built up some positive Karma with the playerbase. All I can do now, is say that I had nothing to do with the hack, and hope that people believe me. Some will I’m sure, but there will be others who always doubt me.
I don’t expect whoever did this to come forward and admit what they have done, I’m not that naive. But I would ask that when gamescribe does comes back up again that you leave it the hell alone!
I have spoken with the owner of Gamescribe, and he assures me that all the data is safe, its just the system files that run the site that were deleted/replaced.

And in a statement on the EVE Forums, GameScribe CEO and founder Keldar Anassi (character name), has reassured users that only the sites files are affected and the database remains untouched:
The competition will continue, I will work the rest of today and tonight. The site WILL be back up as soon as i can get this figured out. All of the actual files were deleted, but the DBs have remained untouched. ALL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS SAFE AND SECURE.
Barring any major difficulties site will be down no more than the rest of today. I will however not re-launch the site again until i have plugged the security hole that let the bas***d in. Anyways, enough chatting, i have a mountain of work to do..
I would like to take this opportunity to wish the GameScribe team the best of luck and hope that they have informed the relevant authorities and CCP. As it looks like a silly script kiddy trying to be clever there is the possibility that they haven’t covered their tracks all that well.
To VAD3R (a character of that name apprently exists in game, but no conclusions should be jumped to) I say this: What you have done is more than just a prank, it is a crime. The damage you have done, not only to GameScribe but to PodLogs aswell by associating yourself with them, is unforgivable. I hope they track you down and hit you with the biggest banhammer they can find. Don’t be surprised if the cops come knocking. And if I or any of my compatriots find out who you are in game be prepared to lose alot of ships and have your arse greifed from here to next millienium. Loser.
