Luck Be A Lady

At the heart of all piracy, when you boil away the plans, schemes, skills and perseverance,  lies the uncomfortable truth that in the end you are relying alot on luck.

We were poised, waiting in the darkness for a Large Minmatar POS Tower (market vlue approx. 360 million ISK) to unanchor. It wasn’t ours, just in case you were wondering if we’d gone soft. Everything was in place. We had tacklers, ready to pin anyone that came along to the grid. We had a hauler ready to scoop the tower the moment it unanchored. And we had a swarm of Stealth Bombers, in case we neede to cause someone pain, waiting cloaked one jump out.

The call came in. The POS could be scooped. Our hauler moved into range and… nothing.

For some inexplicable reason, be it a half asleep cargo crew, a faulty mechanism, or fluctuations in the fabric of space time, out hauler couldn’t scoop the tower. While he frantically kicked various bits of machinery and crew to get them to work the owner of the POS swooped in and scooped their property from under our noses.

It was no-ones fault. It was not a matter of timing, or a flaw in the plan. It was just bad luck.

She’s a fickle mistress.

J Out.
