I used to think Boris Johnson was pretty clever, but this recent proclamation of his has destroyed that notion completely. Gone is the affable and likeable buffon who graced our screens on ‘Have I got News…’ who was the butt of many media jokes, to be replaced by a closet statist of the most despicable order.
He says to the young of London, of which he is mayor, “If you see a fight, don’t get involved, bcause someone may have a knife.” this is the antithesis of what living in a free and civil society means. The argument is often put forward that our society is based on christian values and here we have a prominent politician abjuring us to turn away from these values. Caer for your fellow man is the lynchpin of a free society and now we are being told not to care, to turn a blind eye, and to walk away from injustice and violence when we see it in the street.
More telling is the fact that this statement comes on the same day as an elderly veteran was stabbed and killed* for giving some ne’re do wells a telling off. This is the world we live in, if we want to change it we have to take up arms and fight the degenerate sections of our society with every fiber of our beings. If the streets must run with blood for our freedom and sense of purpose to be returned to us then so be it. The politicians will be first.
* This was mentioned on Radio 4′s Toady Program but I can find no reference to it anywhere else. Suppressed by the mayors office? Maybe I’m just being paranoid.
