Plenty of readers, but no comments…

The title says it all really. I don’t want to sound like I’m begging but… please, say something.
I’m meant to be under construction, opinions and ideas being formed from interacting with other people. So please leave a comment. Even if it’s just to tell me I’m a twat.
This conversation has been rather one sided of late and, as much as I enjoy talking to myself, I’m not going to learn anything I don’t already know.
The last post for instance. Tell me what you think. Tell me what’s wrong with it and why you think it won’t work. I know there have been people reading it, and I know that they’ll have an opinion on the subject. They just don’t want to tell me.
If comments aren’t working for some reason you can let me know at webmandrill(at)gmail(dot)com.

“My Political Education” links back to main page…..
Found your blog via CCTV outrage comment; found those via Billy Beck’s blog.
I think both you (UK govt is out of control and beyond citizen sanction) and the first CCTV commenters (we ARE afraid of yobs) are right. No mutual exclusivity there.
Thank you for your comment Hugo, It was beginning to get a bit lonely on this site. (Tumbleweeds and everything :))
I take it you’re referring to the comments on Samizdata, in which case I quite agree. Both problems are part of the same general malaise that is affecting British society at the moment. Of course we’re afraid of yobs, simply because we have been denied the right to defend ourselves from them by a government that is out of control. The two are intrinsically bound together.
I left nearly 5 years ago and now live in the US. Every day am am thankful. I think it’s OVER back there. Gone. Done. Not capable of being put back together again. Too many vested interests; especially the welfare state, with all its ramifications and its dependents. Cameron makes an interesting noise ref. his ‘responsibility revolution’, which is exactly what is required, but then appears to blow it on so many other fronts. Responsibility is a zero sum game - the more responsibility the Gov assumes (steals), the less you will find in ‘real life’. When the State is responsible for your education, housing, health and protection it does not make you blessed, it makes you IRRESPONSIBLE.
Am I being an idot? I found your (part1?) IP comments on Samizdata but part 2, where I guess you bring it back to your blog and ’spot your misunderstanding’ just brings me back to your home page. ??. If you have part 2 please can you repost or post a link. Interested. Thanks
That should work now hugo. I’ve changed the permalink structure since I posted the page so obviously the links didn’t work.
Hello mandrill,
I know what you mean it does get quiet sometimes. This weekend has been particularly quiet. I’ll try and visit more often.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks for dropping by Steve. Its been quiet round here for some time. I’m beginning to wonder if my writing style puts people off commenting. Its something I’ll be looking into.
Hi Mandrill
You’re a twat.
You asked for it. Sorry it’s late and I’m very tired.
Seriously though I do read your articles/entries/posts (whatever the current phrase is) usually in digest form. They are very thought provoking (in a positive way). Maybe it’s more to do with writing about thinky stuff rather than talky stuff.
Anyway, see you guys real soon. I am looking forward to meeting Arthur.
PS I am not a stalker. Although I will be impressed if you can work out who I am. No cheating by checking IP Addresses either.
Hmm. Intriguing.
Good to hear from you Des(?)
If its not Des then I’m stumped.
