It’s a good arguement on both parts, I do agree that civilians having and owning guns is a threat but I think its more unsafe for only the government officials to have them also. I agree that defense against an intruder or violent person is a reason to still make arms available with proper precautions.

I don’t know if you noticed or not but I’m in the UK, and we don’t have the right to keep and bear arms. Anyone who owns a handgun has to store it at their shooting club and cannot store it in their home.
Much is made of rising ‘gun culture’ among the youth of our cities where owning and carrying a gun is seen as a way to get the respect of your peers. There is also the apparent ‘glamourisation’ effect of guns in movies and such which many blame for gangs of youths thinking that guns are ‘cool’. If They had grown up with them and had them around every day, I’m sure the allure wouldn’t be there to begin with and we would learn that a gun is a tool and not a fashion accessory.

Cherish your right to bear arms Bradley, I hope you never have call to use it in anger.

I think that we all should have the right to own guns. Even if guns were banned, the people who use guns for bad would still have those, and why would you want to try to defend yourself against a powerful gun with a knife, which would probably end up being banned anyways too.

So, own the guns, and tell people you love your right to have them. Really, if people know you have the firepower to defend yourself, your home, and your family, do you really think someone would even want to try to get your stuff, or to harm your family? No.

I support the right to bear arms, and I will fight to the death to keep it.
